Inland liner of K.P. Thurston, his name stencilled on the rear and written on the leather chinstrap. M.M. 1/c indicates Machinist's Mate 1st Class.
Captain's bars soldered on a McCord steel shell. The steel shell appears to have had an officer's vertical ETO bar painted on the back but it was erased. The liner is a second type General Fibre Company liner, not a Hawley.
The captain's bars seem to be British made, most likely Firmin London. Originally the pin was painted white. Move cursor over the image for a close up of the Captain's bars.
Lt Disclafani's helmet. This odd combination consists of an unmarked Schlueter shell with flat brass buckle and a Capac liner with OD green A washers and early type headband with wire buckle.
Lt Disclafani marked his liner with a piece of medical tape and his name in pencil. The back of the steel shell bears the inkstamp D 6994.
Heavily used and repainted ETO marked Captain's helmet. Liner is a battered early St Clair with rayon suspension. Move cursor over the image to see the back of the helmet.
Westinghouse liner named to Sergeant 'Holm'. The quality of the paint varied, as evidently shown on this liner.
